Mayble Parker

Mayble Parker

Intern

Nipaluna | Hobart

An Aboriginal woman from the Kimberley region of Western Australia, Mayble Parker has familial and cultural connections with a wide range of groups in the Kimberley, stretching into the Northern Territory. Her family groups are Djaru and Kija within Western Australia and Gurindji from her grandfathers’ family in the NT.

Mayble also acknowledges the immense connection and respect she holds for both Mirriwong and Nyoongar peoples from Kununurra and Boorloo where she has spent many years living on country.

Mayble is currently undergoing her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University of Tasmania and has joined the Marrawah team as an Intern Paralegal. She has a strong passion for Indigenous advocacy and Human Rights.

Mayble sought to study law because of her passion for advocacy. In 2020, the destruction of the Juukan Gorge pushed Mayble to understand the policies that allowed for the destruction of such a sacred site and to better understand the legal system and the way laws and policies can help Indigenous people.

Mayble completed her Internship via the Aurora Internship Program and has now joined the Marrawah Law team and is based in the nipaluna (Hobart) office.
