We have assisted Gympie Regional Council to tailor and commence implementation of an Indigenous land management framework across all of its property functions including: freehold and non-freehold tenure dealings, applications to purchase (ie the process for obtaining new freehold grants), leasing transactions including State leases and trustee leases for government and community infrastructure, and land development facilitation including compulsory acquisitions and project construction. The framework is an integrated system of information guides, tools and templates specifically geared to government property management where Indigenous interests in land might be affected. Some clients, such as Gympie Regional Council, have integrated the framework with other aspects of their First Nations advancement policies such as reconciliation action plans and their participation in the consent resolution of native title claims across its region.
