The client held large tracts of land as Aboriginal Land Act freehold. The client was approached by a carbon sequestration consultancy company. Essentially the carbon company wanted to enter into an agreement with the client for the client to generate, with the carbon company’s assistance, Australian Carbon Credit Unit s(‘ACCUs’).Marrawah Law was engaged by the Queensland Government to provide independent legal advice to the client about the proposed agreement.
