Mikaela is a proud Torres Strait Islander from Mabuiag Island with family connections to the Wagadagem and Ngaragi Tribe.

Mikaela is in her final year of studying a Bachelor of Law (Honours) undergraduate degree externally through the Queensland University of Technology. She is very interested in pursuing a legal career in the areas of native title law and commercial law upon graduation and admission.
